March - December, Where has the Time Gone?!?!

So at this point Lilly is over a year old (15 months to be exact) and she just amazes us everyday.  The growth that we as humans go through is just amazing!

Things that Lilly has done since March:
1. Finally wears size 12 month clothing...granted she can wear 18 month pajamas and they are way cuter, but she is finally in the double digit clothing!

2. She made it into size 3 diapers!! I think she will be potty trained before we ever get a bigger size!

3. She loves the zoo!! She loves the zoo so much that we were going 2-3 times a week and neither of us ever got tired of it.  She absolutely loves the hyenas, because they look like dogs!  Her other favorite thing at the zoo is the carousel.  Thankfully we were able to attend a zoo fundraiser and purchased a rental of the carousel.  What an amazing first birthday party!

4.  She had her first birthday.  I am so grateful for good family and friends.  Lilly was able to have her great-grandpa & great, great-uncle from Florida there, so in total she had, 2-grandma's, 1-great grandma, 1-great grandpa, 1-grandpa, 1-second cousin, 1-great uncle, 1-great, great uncle, 2-uncles, 2-aunts, 13 friends, and 1-best friend there.  She is loved by so many, it is amazing to see just how many people love and care for her.

5. Her best friend is Sammie.  I truly hope that Lilly and Sammie are able to develop a friendship that surpasses none.  She is so lucky to have a friend that is so close to her age and is a great compliment to her attitude.  This is my future blackmail picture!

6. She loves books!  She absolutely loves the book "The Little Blue Truck".  She also loves the book "I Love You Stinky Face".

7. The library is another favorite place!  Lilly and I usually walk out of the library with a bag full of books!  We have also discovered that the CDs are a wonderful addition to our car, as we don't like to listen to the radio!

8. We have a walker!  Two days after her first birthday, she took her first steps on her own.  There has been no looking back.  She runs and walks everywhere and gets upset if you don't let her.  I am seriously thinking about a backpack leash for her.

9. Her first "real" Halloween was a huge success.  She was a super cute alien from Toy Story and she carried around a princess wand.  She could've cared less about the candy, she just wanted to walk.  What a goofy girl!

10. Lilly officially has 4 front upper teeth, 4 front lower teeth, and 4 rear teeth.  She took teething extremely well and I am so grateful for that!

11. She is mommy's helper!  She loves to help/hinder washing dishes, vacuuming, etc.

12. This girl sure knows how to shop! She always hand the debit card to cashiers and we even took a trip to Von Maur and found her a Christmas dress!  She decided to hand the cashier the card to pay for it and the lady walked around the counter to hand Lilly the bag, upon which time Lilly pulled the bag all the way up to her chin with both hands and walked proudly out of the store.  I have a feeling we will have lots of wonderful shopping trips in the future!

13. She is her father's daughter!  She loves to play video games and gets upset if Pratt turns them off.  She loves to sit on his lap and watch them.  She also has her very own remote (which doesn't work, thankfully) and her own xbox controller!  Hopefully she will love playing video games with him as much as she will love shopping!

 14. We get stopped everywhere!  You would think that people had never seen a beautiful little girl before.  We have to plan for an extra 15-30 minutes for every trip because we get stopped.  I thought it was just an Indiana thing until we went to Chicago for a Cubs game and we were stopped by complete strangers!

Little Eater

Since it has been a while since I posted, here is the basic scoop!
- Lilly is rolling all over.  She hasn't quite mastered crawling, but she knows how to stretch and act likea  snake to get what she wants.  She will slide side to side or move backwards, but nothing forwards yet!

 - She has decided that she no longer wants to sleep in her crib and she will only sleep in her swing...This makes it kind of awkward when she tries to roll on her side at night...We are working on getting her comfortable again with her crib.

- Those darn teeth!  They just won't make their appearance and she has been in so much pain the past couple of days...

- Hair, Hair, and more Hair!  She has so much hair that I can't believe it!

- Lilly now will stand and take awkward steps if you hold her hands.  She will also pull herself up if you offer the assistance...She won't do it on her own, but if you offer, she will take you up on it.

- She has been saying ma a lot lately...not the normal mmmm babble, but ma...I don't know if I would consider this talking, but I think she is starting to get the gist of how to work those lips and tongue.

- She is eating solid foods 2x's daily.  In the morning and at dinner time.  She really loves her cereal!  She does not like green beans or peas, and bananas she is kind of iffy on.  She didn't make the same faces with the bananas as with the others, but she sure didn't gobble them down...

- She sure likes to have mommy and daddy's attention.  If she is held or anything by us, she just seems like she is very comfortable and happy.  Thank goodness she loves us!

Overall she is a very active and happy 6 month old who has everyone she meets wrapped around her finger.  She brings such joy to our lives and it is so neat to see the mini milestones that she has.  What seems so simple for us, is a new learning experience for her.  It is so incredible to be a witness to all of this!

First Holidays

Lilly decided to be quite the mover over the holidays!  On Christmas day, she decided to roll from her back to her front...Soon I am quite afraid she will be moving!  She now rolls all the time from her back to her front and she is desperately trying to move.

Lilly has been babbling a ton lately and she talks every chance she can get!

We also went to build a bear to find her first wonderful friend.  We let her look at the wall to see what might catch her eye and we figured the blue bear would, since she loves a little blue truck book.  Boy were we wrong.  She cried everytime the blue bear was brought towards her.  She really is girly, because she absolutely loved the pink bear that we showed her!

A few weeks before Christmas we took Lilly to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo to visit with Santa, Mrs. Clause, and all the other wonderful people there.  Unfortunately she slept through most of it, but it was definetly worth it for us!

We had a wonderful first Christmas with her and she got everything she wanted - she loved the pj's that she received from grandparents, a toy or two, and she loved the book that she loves to have read to her - Little Blue Truck Leads the Way!

Pratt also got a big surprise for Christmas from Lilly and I! He will get Diablo III as soon as it comes out. We really made him work for his gift and made it an all day event. I don't think he was too thrilled with it, but the end goal was worth it!

She has gotten a few new beautiful hair bows and boy she sure has the hair to show them off!

We also believe that she is teething, but she is not to keen on the teethers when they come out of the freezer!

Well Lilly is ready for bed!  Hopefully I will be updating more as she keeps moving!
